The Mohawk Summer Recreation Program

is a day program that is sponsored by the town of Buckland for children of the community entering Kindergarten through students entering sixth grade. There is a separate program for sixth grade graduates through ninth grade graduates, which is called the Junior Staff Program. The Buckland Recreation area has been the home of this program for many years. Located on Route 112 just past the high school, it offers a variety of environments from a wooded area, to ball field, to a swimming pool. A pavilion offers shelter from the rain and hot sun. Local teens are hired to supervise the children in a variety of activities and games. All activities promote a healthy lifestyle, cooperation, and decision-making skills. Arts & Crafts and swimming are offered daily. Swim lessons are offered in the morning at the pool and are available to our campers for an additional fee.
